Sports and Recreation Within an hour's drive of downtown, there are seven major ski and snowboard resorts, three cross country sites, and the only recreational ski-jumping facility in the nation. Salt Lake City is home to several professional sports' teams, including the Utah Jazz, the Utah Starzz, the Salt Lake Stingers, and the Utah Grizzlies. Over a dozen national parks and monuments lie within a day's drive of Salt Lake City, including Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, and Zion National Parks.
