2. Graduate Students

Graduate students can join the Winge lab through the programs in Molecular Biology or Biological Chemistry at the Unversity of Utah. Details on these programs are available through the Graduate Program link. We welcome rotation students from either program.

3. Undergraduate Students

Opportunities exist for a few undergraduate students wanting a research experience. Some laboratory experience or classwork in molecular biology or biochemisry preferred.

4. Graduate Research Assistant

The Division of Hematology at the University of Utah seeks application for a graduate research assistant position. Applicants must be registered, matriculated students at the University of Utah, working towards a Post-Baccalaureate degree. This person assists senior laboratory personnel in planning methods and techniques of physical, chemical, or biological tests, carrying out procedures, and recording results. Work requires exercising independent judgment and a basic theoretical knowledge of the applicable science. This position may include limited supervision of entry-level laboratory personnel, who may refer sensitive or unusual situations to the incumbent. Work is reviewed through periodic conferences and analysis of results. The candidate will perform studies on the molecular biology of mitochondria and cellular metal homeostasis.
